Super straightforward pattern - loved it!

I made the Marielle dress in a heavy satin fabric for a wedding and I love it! I made the skirt part a maxi and I modified the neckline so it is a sweetheart shape. Modifying the pattern to my liking was super easy, too. The princess seams were easy to get the hang of and it is suuuper flattering - I felt like a princess all night :) The instructions were clear and straightforward, I loved making this dress. This was my first Vikisews pattern, so I made a mockup for the top part to get the size right - I'm glad I did and I realized I probably could have gone for a smaller size, but it was easy to adjust, so I did not mind. I found that when I tried on the corset (before attaching the skirt), the size felt good, but then with the skirt I realized I needed to make the corset tighter, because my fabric was heavy and it was weighing it down, especially with the skirt being a maxi. If you are working with a heavy fabric, I recommend making the corset as tight as you can go, to keep the shape. The only trickier part was attaching the front and back of the straps, but the instructions were great so it went smoothly after a few minutes of mental gymnastics. All in all, I loved making this dress and I can't wait to wear it to many different occasions to come! 🌹
