I recently had the pleasure of making the Jules vest (pictured with the Greta skirt) for a client. Well, two clients actually - but the 2nd once has not been delivered yet. I really love the experience of tailoring and the Jules vest was a great piece to fill that creative need for me. It was not as large a project as, say, a jacket but had the elements I love - mock welt pocket. princess seams and an interesting turning technique as it is a halter neck style. As always, the information provided for cutting, preparing fabric pieces and construction where all concise and clearly understandable. Both clients are both overseas, so I am going to need to make minor alterations to at least one of the vests (the client lost a significant amount of weight around her torso between the final fitting and it being delivered. Not purposefully - just the nature of her work) but have arranged to do that when I see her in December. However, the back cinch band meant that she was able to still make it look fitted at her waist as it is designed to do. Five stars from me.
