Vega bag
Vega is a spacious, structured bag finished with a lining. The bag panel is reinforced with stiff piping around the perimeter. The handles are stiff and topstitched to the bag panel. The bag panel has a patch pocket on one side. The lining features a zipper pocket and a patch pocket. The bag closes with a zipper and has a detachable strap adjusted with a buckle.
Approximate sewing time — 1 day (8 hours).
To sew this bag, choose heavyweight, structured, and non-stretch fabrics. The following fabrics are recommended: faux leather or faux suede with a woven or suede backing, real leather.
The real leather should be 0.8–1 mm thick.
The bag in the photo is made of real leather. The material is thick, structured, and non-stretch. The leather is 1 mm thick.
The fiber content of the lining is 100% viscose. The lining fabric weight is 90 g/m2.

Attention! Real leather is typically sold in hides that come in different sizes and may have inconsistent thickness. Moreover, hides may have some cuts or tears. We recommend cutting out the paper pattern pieces in advance and taking them to the store with you so you can choose the appropriate hide on the spot.

6. One buckle, 2.5 cm (1") in diameter
7. Two lobster clasps, 1.5 cm (5/8") in diameter
8. Piping cord (trimmer line, 2.5 mm in diameter) — 2 m (2 1/8 yd)
9. One zipper for the inner pocket, 18 cm (7 1/8") long
10. One zipper with two sliders, 70 cm (27 1/2") long
11. Double-sided adhesive tape, 5–10 mm (just under 1/4–3/8") wide
12. Two bottom zipper stoppers
13. Matching topstitching thread (for example, Madeira No. 35) — 3 spools
14. Matching thread for the lining fabric — 1 spool
