Lammy top
Lammy is a semi-fitted top with a straight silhouette, featuring long raglan sleeves and a round neckline finished with a neckband. The top has a grown-on placket that fastens with snaps and is hip-length.
Approximate sewing time: 1/2 day (4 hours).
To sew this garment, choose knit fabrics with the following properties:
- medium weight, soft, breathable, stretchy or with very little stretch
- the fiber content can include natural fibers (wool, cotton, linen), artificial fibers (viscose), and blends (cotton + viscose, cotton + wool, etc.)
- the following fabrics are recommended: jersey knits, interlock knits, French terry, rib knits.
The garment in the photos is made of natural fabric. The fabric is medium weight, soft, and has very little stretch. The fiber content is 100% cotton. The fabric weight is 180 g/m2.

2. Lightweight knit interfacing, 140 cm (55”) wide, for all sizes and heights — 0.1 m (1/8 yd).
3. Two snap fasteners suitable for knit fabrics, 1 cm (3/8") in diameter.
4. Matching thread — 5 spools (1 spool for the sewing machine + 4 spools for the overlocker).

- overlocker for construction and finishing raw edges. This may be replaced with a stretch overlock stitch or a zigzag stitch on the sewing machine (overlock or zigzag stitch width 2–3 mm, stitch length 2.5 mm).
- coverstitch or coverlock machine for finishing the garment and sleeve hems. If you don’t have a coverstitch machine, it can be replaced with a twin needle on any regular sewing machine that can do a zigzag stitch.
- press tool for installing snaps. This may be replaced with a snap fastener kit which includes a setting tool and snaps.
Important! We recommend using specialty needles when working with knit fabrics (for example, STRETCH, SUPER STRETCH, JERSEY, etc.). These are ballpoint needles, so they part the threads of the fabric you are stitching rather than piercing them.
