Riley pants (girls)
Riley is a pair of tapered, semi-fitted kids pants. The grown-on waistband has elastic threaded through it. There are cuffs at the bottom of the pants.
Approximate sewing time: 1 day (3 hours).
Model Arina: Height 124 (48 7/8"), Chest 55 (21 5/8"), Waist 50 (19 5/8"), Hips 62 (24 3/8"). Arina is wearing size 28 in height 116 (45.5"). The pattern has been altered to correspond to the height of the model.
To sew this garment, choose knit fabrics with the following properties:
- soft, breathable, non-stretch or with very little stretch, medium-weight;
- the fabric content can include natural (wool, cotton), artificial (viscose), blends (wool + polyester, cotton + polyester, cotton + elastane, etc.), and synthetic fibers (polyester, polyester + elastane);
- the following fabrics are recommended: cotton jersey, lightweight French terry, Punto di Roma, interlock knits.
Attention! We do not recommend lightweight sheer fabrics (chiffon, organza, stretch lace, non-stretch fabrics).
The garment in the photo is made of lightweight French terry. This fabric is medium-weight, soft, and stretchy. The fiber content is a blend of cotton and elastane. The cuffs are made of ribbing.

2. Additional fabric (ribbing), 120 cm (47 1/4") wide, for all sizes and all heights - 0.11 m (1/8 yd)
Important! When purchasing fabric, please account for shrinkage and buy 5% more than required.
3. Elastic, 4 cm (1 5/8") wide, 50–70 cm (19 5/8–27 1/2") long depending on the size and height. The exact elastic length can be found on the pattern pieces.
4. Matching thread - 5 spools (1 spool for the sewing machine and 4 spools for the overlocker).
- sewing machine for constructing the cuffs;
- overlocker for construction and for finishing raw edges. It may be replaced with a stretch overlock stitch or a zigzag stitch on the sewing machine (overlock or zigzag stitch width 2–3 mm, stitch length 2.5 mm);
- bodkin for threading elastic through a channel (may be replaced with a safety pin).
IMPORTANT! When sewing knit fabrics, it’s recommended to use specialty needles for knits (such as stretch, super stretch, jersey, etc.). These are ballpoint needles with a rounded tip which allows the needle to pass in between the loops instead of piercing the threads.
