Sam pants (girl)
Sam is a pair of straight, loose-fitting pants. The upper edge of the applied waistband sits at the natural waistline. The waistband is gathered with elastic and features two rows of topstitching that form a casing. Twill tape is threaded through the casing through stitched buttonholes. The pants feature two side seam pockets and two patch pockets at the knee level. The rectangular patch pockets have diagonal pocket openings. The pants are ankle-length and have elasticated hems.
Model Sonya. Height 123, Chest - 60, Waist - 54, Hips - 67. Sonya is wearing size 30 in height 122.
To sew this garment, choose knit fabrics with the following properties:
- soft, breathable, non-stretch or low-stretch, medium-weight;
- the fabric content can include natural fibers (wool, cotton), artificial fibers (viscose), blends (wool + polyester, cotton + polyester, cotton + elastane, etc.), and synthetics (polyester, polyester + elastane);
- the following fabrics are recommended: thick French terry, sweatshirt fleece, ponte di roma.
Attention!We do not recommend lightweight sheer fabrics (chiffon, organza, stretch lace).
The garment in the photos is made of sweatshirt fleece. The fabric is medium-weight, soft, low-stretch. The fiber content is cotton + polyester.

IMPORTANT! When purchasing fabric, please account for shrinkage and buy 5% more than required.
2. Lightweight knit interfacing, 140cm (55”) wide, for all sizes and heights - 5cm (2”). Straight grain fusible tape, 1cm (3/8") wide - 0.5–1m (1/2–1 1/8yd).
3. Elastic, 4cm (1 5/8") wide, 65cm–1m (3/4–1 1/8yd) long depending on the size and height. The length is indicated on the pattern.
4. Twill tape - 0.9–1.3m (1–1 3/8yd) depending on the size.
5. Matching thread - 5 spools (1 spool for the sewing machine + 4 spools for the overlocker).
- sewing machine for construction;
- buttonhole foot for the sewing machine;
- overlocker for construction and finishing seam allowances. This can be replaced with a stretch overlock stitch or a zigzag stitch on the sewing machine (overlock or zigzag stitch width 2–3mm, stitch length 2.5mm);
- bodkin/elastic threader (can be replaced with a safety pin).
Important! We recommend using specialty needles when working with knit fabrics (for example, STRETCH, SUPER STRETCH, JERSEY, etc.). These are ballpoint needles, so they part the threads of the fabric you are stitching rather than piercing them.
