Caroline dress
Caroline is a close-fitting dress with a slight flare at the bottom. The fit of the dress is achieved by the bias cut. The front features bust darts and a center seam. The back features shoulder and waist darts as well as a center seam. The round neckline has a keyhole opening and a button and button loop closure at the back. The dress has long, set-in, close-fitting sleeves that are slightly flared at the bottom. Caroline is above-ankle length.
Model Sofia: Height 172 cm (5’8”), Bust 84 cm (33 1/8”), Waist 64 cm (25 1/4”), Hips 90 cm (35 3/8”). Sofia is wearing size 36 in height 3.
Model Yana: Height 174 cm (5’8”), Bust 107 cm (42 1/8”), Waist 87 cm (34 1/4”), Hips 122 cm (48”). For Yana we combined sizes 48 for the waist and 52 for the hips in height 3.
Approximate sewing time — 1 day (8 hours).
To sew this dress, choose dress-weight fabrics with the following properties:
- medium weight, with good drape, soft, non-stretch or with very little stretch, opaque
- the fiber content can include natural fibers (silk), artificial fibers (viscose), blends (silk + polyester, etc.), and synthetics (polyester)
- the following fabrics are recommended: satin, dress-weight viscose, stretch crepe, natural silk, artificial silk
Attention! We do not recommend stretchy (with elastane) and lightweight sheer fabrics (chiffon, organza, stretch lace).
The dress in the photo is made of artificial silk. The fabric is medium weight, soft, non-stretch and with good drape. The fiber content is 100% polyester.
