Cherry is a lined, close-fitting dress with an accentuated waist. It features a waist seam and a shaped neckline. The bodice of the dress has princess seams at the front and back, separate bust cups, and wide straps. The tiered skirt features gathers at the top edge of each panel. The dress closes with an invisible zipper in the center back seam. Cherry is above-knee length.
Approximate sewing time: 2 days (16 hours).
Model Varvara: Height 174 cm (5’8”), Bust 86 cm (33 7/8”), Waist 64 cm (25 1/4”), Hips 92 cm (36 1/4”). Varvara is wearing size 36 in height 3.
To sew this dress, choose dress-weight fabrics with the following properties:
- lightweight, pliable, soft, non-stretch or with very little stretch, sheer or semi-sheer
- the fiber content can include natural fibers (silk, cotton), artificial fibers (viscose), blends (cotton + silk, cotton + viscose, silk + viscose, etc.), and synthetics (polyester)
- the following fabrics are recommended: crinkle batiste, chiffon, crinkle chiffon, crinkle silk, lightweight natural or synthetic silk.
Important! We do not recommend heavyweight, structured fabrics.
For the lining, choose lightweight, non-stretch fabrics such as batiste, lightweight natural or synthetic silk.
The dress in the photo is made of crinkle batiste. The fabric is lightweight, pliable, soft, semi-sheer, and with very little stretch. The fiber content is 100% cotton. The fabric weight is 40 g/m2.
The fiber content of the lining is 100% cotton. The fabric weight is 60 g/m2.

IMPORTANT! When purchasing fabric, please account for shrinkage and buy 5% more than required.
4. One invisible zipper, 40 cm (15 3/4") long, for all sizes in all heights.
5. Stitched bias-cut fusible stay tape, 1 cm (3/8") wide, for all sizes in all heights— 3.9 m (4 1/4 yd).
6. Matching thread — 4 spools (1 spool for the sewing machine + 3 spools for the overlocker).

- overlocker for finishing raw edges. This may be replaced with a stretch overlock stitch or a zigzag stitch on the sewing machine (overlock or zigzag stitch width 2–3 mm, stitch length 2.5 mm).
