Francoise dress
Francoise is a semi-fitted dress with a straight silhouette and a round neckline. It features drop shoulders and elbow-length set-in sleeves. The front of the dress has bust darts and functional patch pockets with buttons while the back is fitted with shoulder darts and a center seam. The dress is finished with a free-hanging lining and fastens with an invisible zipper in the center back seam. The center front, sleeve hems and pocket hems are decorated with Chanel trim. Francoise is above-knee length.
Model Varvara: Height 174 cm (5’8”), Bust 86 cm (33 7/8”), Waist 64 cm (25 1/4”), Hips 92 cm (36 1/4”). Varvara is wearing size 36 in height 3.
Approximate sewing time — 1.5 days (12 hours).
To sew this dress, choose suiting fabrics with the following properties:
- medium weight, structured, non-stretch, opaque
- the fiber content can include natural fibers (wool), artificial fibers (viscose), blends (wool + silk, wool + polyester, etc.), and synthetics (polyester)
- the following fabrics are recommended: dress-weight wool, tweed, coating fabrics.
Attention! We do not recommend stretchy fabrics, soft, lightweight fabrics, or heavyweight wool fabrics.
For the lining, choose lining fabrics made of artificial fibers (viscose), blends (viscose + elastane, viscose + polyester), or synthetics (polyester, polyester + elastane).
The dress in the photo is made of tweed. The fabric is medium weight, pliable, structured and non-stretch. The fiber content is 70% viscose and 30% cotton. The fabric weight is 460 g/m2.
The lining is 100% viscose. The fabric weight is 50 g/m2.
