Marilyn dress
Marilyn is a close-fitting dress with an accentuated waist and a waist seam. The skirt and the sleeves are cut on the bias. The front bodice is fitted with bust and waist darts. The back bodice has a shaped cutout and features an open back at the waist level. The round neckline has an opening at the back with a button and button loop closure. The dress has long, set-in bell sleeves. There is an invisible zipper in the center back seam of the skirt. The bodice of the dress is lined. Marilyn is above-knee length.
Model Elizabeth: Height 177 cm (5’10”), Bust 82 cm (32 1/4”), Waist 62 cm (24 3/8”), Hips 91 cm (35 7/8”). Elizabeth is wearing size 36 in height 3.

To sew this dress, choose dress-weight fabrics with the following properties:
- medium weight, pliable, soft, non-stretch
- the fiber content can include natural fibers (silk), artificial fibers (viscose), blends (silk + polyester, silk + viscose, etc.), and synthetics (polyester)
- the following fabrics are recommended: satin, crepe, silk.
Attention! We do not recommend heavyweight, structured fabrics (jacquard) and lightweight sheer fabrics (chiffon, organza, stretch lace).
For the lining, we recommend fabrics made of natural fibers (silk), artificial fibers (viscose), blends (viscose + polyester), and synthetics (polyester).
The dress in the photo is made of artificial silk. The fabric is medium weight, pliable, soft, and non-stretch. The fiber content is 100% viscose. The fabric weight is 150 g/m2.
The lining is 100% viscose. The fabric weight is 70 g/m2.

3. Lightweight knit or woven interfacing, 140 cm (55”) wide, 30 g/m2, for all sizes in all heights — 0.15 m (1/8 yd).
4. One invisible zipper, 25 cm (9 7/8") long, for all sizes in all heights.

6. Matching thread — 4 spools (1 spool for the sewing machine + 3 spools for the overlocker).
