Mariza dress
Mariza is a close-fitting dress with separate, lined bust cups. The dress is fitted with front and back waist darts and features a center back seam with an exposed zipper. The dress has a deep, round neckline. The long, set-in, close-fitting sleeves feature gathers at the sleeve cap and zippered hem slits. The neckline and the sleeve hems are trimmed with faux leather. There is decorative topstitching along the waist darts, bust cup seams, neckline, and zippers. Mariza is above-knee length.
Approximate sewing time: 2 days (20 hours).
Model Liza: Height 176 cm (5’9”), Bust 83 cm (32 5/8”), Waist 62 cm (24 3/8”), Hips 90 cm (35 3/8”). Liza is wearing size 36 in height 3.
To sew this dress, choose dress-weight fabrics with the following properties:
- medium-weight, pliable, soft, non-stretch
- the fiber content can include natural fibers (cotton), blends (cotton + polyester), and synthetics (polyester)
- the following fabrics are recommended: gabardine, denim, faux suede.
For the bust cup lining, choose fabrics made of natural fibers (cotton) or blends (cotton + viscose).
The dress in the photo is made of denim. The fabric is medium-weight, pliable, soft, and non-stretch. The fiber content is a blend of cotton and polyester. The fabric weight is 270 g/m2.
The bust cup lining is made of 100% cotton poplin. The fabric weight is 110 g/m2.
The trim for the neckline and sleeve hems is made of faux leather (250 g/m2).

8. Matching thread — 5 spools (1 spool for the sewing machine + 4 spools for the overlocker).
9. Matching topstitching thread (for example, Madeira No. 35) — 1 spool.
