Meryl dress
Meryl is a close-fitting dress with an accentuated waist. It features a waist seam and an underbust seam. Both the front and back of the dress are fitted with princess seams and have a deep square neckline. The long, set-in sleeves are gathered at the sleeve cap and feature elbow darts. The dress closes with an invisible zipper in the center back seam. Meryl is finished with a free-hanging lining and is above-knee length.
Approximate sewing time – 2 days (16 hours).
Model Veronica: Height 168 cm (5’6”), Bust 82 cm (32 1/4”), Waist 60 cm (23 5/8”), Hips 89 cm (35”). Veronica is wearing size 36 in height 2.
To sew this dress, choose dress-weight fabrics with the following properties:
− medium weight, pliable, non-stretch or low-stretch
− the fiber content can include natural fibers (wool, cotton), artificial fibers (viscose), blends (wool + polyester, cotton + viscose, etc.), and synthetics (polyester)
− the following fabrics are recommended: dress-weight wool, suiting fabrics, gabardine
Attention! We do not recommend stretchy knit fabrics and lightweight sheer fabrics (chiffon, organza, stretch lace).
For the lining, choose lining fabrics made of blends (viscose + elastane, viscose + polyester) or synthetics (polyester, polyester + elastane).
The dress in the photo is made of suiting fabric. The fabric is medium weight, pliable, and low-stretch. The fiber content is a blend of viscose and wool. The fabric weight is 340 g/m2.
The lining is a blend of viscose and polyester. The weight of the lining fabric is 100 g/m2.
The interfacing weight is 30 g/m2.

4. Stitched bias-cut fusible stay tape, 1.5 cm (5/8") wide, for all sizes in all heights — 80 cm (31 1/2").

6. One invisible zipper, 50 cm (19 5/8”) long, for all sizes in all heights
7. Matching thread — 5 spools (1 spool for the sewing machine + 4 spools for the overlocker)

− overlocker for finishing raw edges. This may be replaced with a stretch overlock stitch or a zigzag stitch on the sewing machine (overlock or zigzag stitch width 2–3 mm, stitch length 2.5 mm)
