Paris dress
Paris is a close-fitting dress with a defined waist. It has a waist seam and a sweetheart neckline trimmed with a ruffle. The back bodice is shaped with princess seams that transition into waist darts on the skirt. The front skirt also has waist darts. The bodice features tie-up shoulder straps and separate bust cups with a draped overlay. The skirt features a ruffle and a flounce at the bottom. The dress has a center front placket and closes with buttons and buttonholes. Paris is above-knee length.
Model Alina: Height 172 cm (5’8”), Bust 86 cm (33 7/8”), Waist 65 cm (25 5/8”), Hips 93 cm (36 5/8”). Alina is wearing size 36 in height 3.
Approximate sewing time – 1.5 days (12 hours).
To sew this dress, choose dress-weight fabrics with the following properties:
- medium-weight, pliable, opaque, non-stretch or low-stretch
- the fiber content can include natural fibers (cotton, linen), artificial fibers (viscose), and blends (cotton + elastane, linen + silk, cotton + viscose, etc.)
- the following fabrics are recommended: gauze, linen, poplin, sateen, cotton shirting.
Attention! We do not recommend heavyweight, structured fabrics.
The dress in the photos is made of gauze. The fabric is medium-weight, pliable, soft, with a little stretch. The fiber content is 100% cotton. The fabric weight is 125 g/m2.
The interfacing weight is 30 g/m2.

IMPORTANT! When purchasing fabric, please account for shrinkage and buy 5% more than required.
3. Stitched bias-cut fusible stay tape, for all sizes and heights – 2.7 m (3 yd).
4. Eleven buttons, 0.7–1 cm (1/4–3/8") in diameter.
5. Matching thread – 4 spools (1 spool for the sewing machine + 3 spools for the overlocker).

- overlocker for finishing raw edges. It can be replaced with a stretch overlock stitch or a zigzag stitch on the sewing machine (overlock or zigzag stitch width 2–3 mm, stitch length 2.5 mm)
- buttonhole foot for the sewing machine
