Abra shorts
Abra is a pair of straight-cut, semi-fitted shorts with no side seam. They feature a grown-on elasticated waistband. The elastic is secured inside the waistband with rows of topstitching. The shorts have a mock fly featuring buttons and buttonholes. Abra is above mid-hip length.
Model Ksenia: Height 171 cm (5’7”), Bust 86 cm (33 7/8”), Waist 63 cm (24 3/4”), Hips 92 cm (36 1/4”). Ksenia is wearing size XS in height 3.
Approximate sewing time — 1 day (8 hours).
To sew these shorts, choose medium-weight, pliable, soft, non-stretch or low-stretch fabrics made of natural fibers, artificial fibers, blends, or synthetics.
The following fabrics are recommended: batiste, cotton, natural or artificial silk, chiffon, challis.
Attention! We do not recommend stretchy knit fabrics.
The shorts in the photo are made of artificial silk. The fabric is medium weight, pliable, soft, and low-stretch. The fiber content is 100% polyester. The fabric weight is 190 g/m2.

4. Three buttons (plus one or two spare ones), 0.7–1 cm (1/4–3/8") in diameter
5. Matching thread — 5 spools (1 spool for the sewing machine + 4 spools for the overlocker)
- sewing machine for construction
- overlocker for finishing raw edges. This may be replaced with a stretch overlock stitch or a zigzag stitch on the sewing machine (overlock or zigzag stitch width 2–3 mm, stitch length 2.5 mm)
- buttonhole foot for the sewing machine
- elastic threader (may be replaced with a safety pin)
