Lena is a bra with short plunge (type 18) underwires. The high apex bust cups feature vertical darts. The scalloped edge of the bust cup is stabilized with clear elastic. The adjustable straps are made of bra strap elastic. The bra features a bridge lined with corset mesh. All edges are finished with picot-edge band elastic. The bra has a hook-and-eye closure.

Model Alena: Height 175 cm (5’9”), Bust 86 cm (33 7/8”), Waist 65 cm (25 5/8”), Hips 96 cm (37 3/4”), Underbust measurement 75 cm (29 1/2”). Alena is wearing size 75B.

Approximate sewing time — 1 day (8 hours).

To sew this bra, choose lace fabrics with the following properties: 

− soft, stretchy (1.2–1.5 stretch factor), medium weight 

− the following fabrics are recommended (the fabric should have a scalloped edge): lace, allover lace fabrics, embroidered mesh, guipure lace

For the bridge and band lining, we recommend using corset mesh.

You can determine the stretch factor of your fabric yourself. Mark 10 cm (4") along the crosswise grain of the fabric, lay a ruler next to the marked section, and stretch the fabric. Divide the measurement you get by 10.

The bra in the photo is made of soft stretch lace. The fiber content is 93% polyamide and 7% elastane. The fabric weight is 80 g/m2. 

The bridge and band are lined with non-stretch corset mesh. The fiber content is 100% polyamide. The fabric weight is 45 g/m2.

12. Matching thread — 4 spools (1 spool for the sewing machine + 3 spools for the overlocker)

− sewing machine for construction

− overlocker for construction and finishing raw edges. This may be replaced with a stretch overlock stitch or a zigzag stitch on the sewing machine (overlock or zigzag stitch width 2–3 mm, stitch length 2.5 mm)

− one-sided foot for the sewing machine

− large-eye needle or latch hook

− tailor's corset ham or bust ham

Important! We recommend using specialty needles when working with knit fabrics and elastic (for example, STRETCH, SUPER STRETCH, JERSEY, etc.). When sewing, a ball-shaped needle point pushes the knit loops apart without piercing the threads.
