Shin garter belt
Shin is a garter belt made of stretch mesh, featuring suspender straps and garters, and sitting at the natural waist line. The top edge of the garter belt is finished with picot-edge lingerie elastic. The curved bottom edges are finished with fold-over elastic binding. The garter belt fastens with a hook-and-eye closure.
Model Alyona: Height 175 cm (5’9”), Bust 86 cm (33 7/8”), Waist 65 cm (25 5/8”), Hips 96 cm (37 3/4”). Alyona is wearing size XS.
Approximate sewing time — 0.5 days (3 hours).
To sew this garter belt, choose knit fabrics with the following properties:
− soft, stretchy (1.2–1.5 stretch factor), medium-weight
− the following fabrics are recommended: lingerie jersey fabrics, stretch lace, stretch mesh.
Attention! We recommend using only stretchy fabrics for this garter belt.
You can determine the stretch factor of the fabric yourself. Mark 10 cm (4") along the crosswise grain of the fabric, lay a ruler next to the marked section, and stretch the fabric. Divide the measurement you get by 10.
The garment in the photos is made of stretch mesh. The fabric is soft and stretchy. The fiber content is 93% polyamide and 7% elastane. The fabric weight is 80 g/m2.

11. Matching thread — 4 spools (1 spool for the sewing machine + 3 spools for the overlocker / coverstitch machine)

- one-sided foot for the sewing machine
- overlocker for construction and finishing raw edges. This may be replaced with a stretch overlock stitch or a zigzag stitch on the sewing machine (overlock or zigzag stitch width 2–3 mm, stitch length 2.5 mm).
- coverstitch or coverlock machine. If you don’t have a coverstitch machine, it may be replaced with a twin needle on any regular sewing machine that can do a zigzag stitch.
Important! We recommend using specialty needles when working with knit fabrics (for example, STRETCH, SUPER STRETCH, JERSEY, etc.). When sewing, a ball-shaped needle point pushes the knit loops apart without piercing the threads.
