Rory top
Rory is a close-fitting tank top. It features a low round neckline. The neckline and armholes are finished with binding. The top is hip-length.
Model Sofia: Height 172 cm (5’8”), Bust 84 cm (33 1/8”), Waist 64 cm (25 1/4”), Hips 90 cm (35 3/8”). Sofia is wearing size 36 in height 3.
Approximate sewing time — 0.25days (2 hours).
To sew this top, choose knit fabrics with the following properties:
- soft, stretchy, smooth or textured
- the fiber content can include natural fibers (cotton, silk), artificial fibers (viscose), blends (cotton + polyester + nylon, cotton + elastane, cotton + spandex, viscose + elastane), and synthetics (polyester + nylon + elastane)
- the following fabrics are recommended: rib knits, jersey knits
Attention! The fabric must contain elastane or spandex.
The top in the photo is made of rib knit fabric. The fabric is medium weight, soft, and stretchy. The fiber content is a blend of cotton (95%) and elastane (5%). The fabric weight is 400 g/m2.

IMPORTANT! When purchasing fabric, please account for shrinkage and buy 5% more than required.
2. Clear elastic, for all sizes and heights — 10 cm (3 7/8")
3. Matching thread — 5 spools (1 spool for the sewing machine + 4 spools for the overlocker)
- sewing machine for construction
- overlocker for construction and finishing raw edges. It can be replaced with a stretch overlock stitch or a zigzag stitch on the sewing machine (overlock or zigzag stitch width 2–3 mm, stitch length 2.5 mm)
- coverstitch or coverlock machine for finishing the neckline and armscye edges, and the garment hem. It can be replaced with a twin needle on a regular sewing machine that can do a zigzag stitch
- latch hook or large-eye needle
Important! We recommend using specialty needles when working with knit fabrics (for example, STRETCH, SUPER STRETCH, JERSEY, etc.). When sewing, a ball-shaped needle point pushes the knit loops apart without piercing the threads.
