Laena jacket
Laena is a loose-fitting, straight-cut, fully lined jacket with flap pockets on the front and a yoke on the back. The casing sewn on along the waistline has a drawstring cord with stoppers threaded through it. The garment features an extended shoulder line, voluminous shirt sleeves with an elasticated hem, and a turn-down collar with a separate collar stand. The jacket closes with a separating zipper at the center front. All seams are topstitched. Laena is above-knee length.
Model Maryam: Height 172 cm (5’8”), Bust 85 cm (33 1/2”), Waist 60 cm (23 5/8”), Hips 91 cm (35 7/8”). Maryam is wearing size XS in height 3.

To sew this jacket, choose outerwear fabrics with the following properties: medium weight, soft, non-stretch. The fiber content can include natural fibers, artificial fibers, blends, or synthetics.
The following fabrics are recommended: outerwear fabrics, gabardine, denim.
Attention! We do not recommend stretchy jersey fabrics, loop-textured fabrics, and thick, bulky fabrics (coating).
For the lining, we recommend lining fabrics made of artificial fibers, synthetic fibers, or blends.
The jacket in the photos is made of outerwear fabric. The fabric is medium weight, structured, and non-stretch. The fiber content is a blend of 75% cotton and 25% polyester. The fabric weight is 200 g/m2.
The fiber content of the lining is 100% viscose. The fabric weight is 100 g/m2.

IMPORTANT! When purchasing fabric, please account for shrinkage and buy 5% more than required.
3. Lightweight knit or woven interfacing, 140 cm (55”) wide, for all sizes in all heights — 1 m (1 1/8 yd).
4. Stitched bias-cut fusible stay tape with stitch reinforcement, 1.5 cm (5/8”) wide — 3 m (3 1/4 yd).
5. One separating zipper, 71.5–82 cm (28 1/8–32 1/4") long, depending on the size and heights.
6. Elastic, 2 cm (3/4") wide — 55 cm (21 5/8") for both sleeves, depending on the size. The exact elastic length is specified on the pattern.
7. Two grommets, 5 mm (1/4") in diameter.
8. Drawstring cord for the waistline casing, 2 m (2 1/8 yd) long, for all sizes in all heights.
9. Two cord stoppers.
10. Two cord end caps.
11. Matching thread — 2 spools.
12. Matching topstitching thread — 2 spools.
