Romy bomber jacket
Romy is a loose-fitting lined bomber jacket with a straight cut. The front features welt pockets. The neckline is round. The stand collar is sewn with thick ribbing. The long shirt sleeves are finished with thick ribbing cuffs. The bomber jacket has an applied waistband made of thick ribbing. Romy closes with a separating zipper and is below-hip length.
Model Sofia: Height 172 cm (5’8”), Bust 84 cm (33 1/8”), Waist 64 cm (25 1/4”), Hips 90 cm (35 3/8”). Sofia is wearing size XS–S in height 3.
Approximate sewing time — 3 days (24 hours).
To sew this bomber jacket, choose suiting fabrics with the following properties:
- medium weight, structured, non- or low-stretch
- the fiber content can include natural fibers (cotton), artificial fibers (viscose), blends (cotton + polyester, etc.), and synthetics (polyester)
- the following fabrics are recommended: cotton gabardine, denim, faux leather
Attention!We do not recommend soft and lightweight (outerwear) fabrics.
For the lining, choose lining fabrics made of artificial fibers (viscose), blends (viscose + elastane, viscose + polyester), or synthetics (polyester, polyester + elastane).
As an additional fabric (for the cuffs, collar, and waistband), choose knit fabrics that are medium weight and medium stretch.
The following fabrics are recommended: rib knits.
As an interlining fabric, choose knit fabrics that are medium weight and medium stretch.
The following fabrics are recommended: jersey fabrics.
Attention!The interlining and additional fabrics must contain spandex or elastane.
For the insulation layer, choose 150 g/m2 materials: alpolux, isosoft, thinsulate, holofiber, polyester batting, or use pre-quilted outerwear fabrics.
The bomber jacket in the photo is made of gabardine. The fabric is medium weight, structured and low-stretch. The fiber content is a blend of cotton (60%) and polyester (40%). The fabric weight is 240 g/m2.
As the additional fabric, we used rib knit fabric. The fiber content is a blend of polyester (92%) and spandex (8%). The fabric weight is 400 g/m2.
The lining fabric is 100% viscose. The fabric weight is 100 g/m2.
The fiber content of the interlining fabric is a blend of polyester (95%) and spandex (5%). The fabric weight is 340 g/m2.
The interfacing weight is 50 g/m2.
