Sybil Trench Coat

10.00

Sybil is a single-breasted trench coat with a loose fit, a straight silhouette and a partial lining. The turn-down collar and the cuffs are made out of ribbing. The collar features a collar stand.  The front has yokes at the top. The front and the back feature a horizontal design line below the waist. The trench coat has a central concealed placket and fastens with buttons. The shaped flap at the right top of the button placket has an extra buttonhole for the button on the left front. The left front features a patch pocket on the top and each of the front pieces has a big patch pocket below the horizontal design line. The central back seam has a high vent at the bottom. The long one-seam shirt sleeve is loose-fitted at the armscye and tapers towards the bottom. The sleeve bottom features a cuff made of ribbing. A horizontal tab at the sleeve bottom is stitched into the sleeve seam, pulled through the strap made by the second vertical sleeve tab and buttoned. The vertical sleeve tab goes along the outer side of the sleeve from the cuff seam to the shoulder seam and is buttoned next to the shoulder. The vertical tab is attached to the sleeve with three decorative topstitching lines. The trench coat is cinched in at the waist with a tie belt which passes through belt loops at the side seams. The pockets, yokes, design line, front edges, concealed button placket, sleeve tabs, belt loops, belt, and garment hem feature decorative topstitching lines. The garment is below-mid-calf length.

Approximate sewing time: 4 days.

Model Sophia: Bust 84cm, Waist 64cm, Hips 90cm, height 172cm. Sophia is wearing size 36 in height 3.

To sew the Sybil trench coat, choose raincoat or outerwear fabrics with the following properties:

- Medium weight, flexible, breathable, soft, non-stretch or with very little stretch, wind-proof and water-resistant;

- The fiber content can include natural fibers (wool, silk, cotton), artificial (viscose), blends (wool + polyester, cotton + lavsan/PET, etc.), and synthetic (polyester, lavsan + polyester);

- The following fabrics are recommended: cotton gabardine (water-repellent included), blended raincoat fabrics.

Attention!

We do not recommend stretchy knit materials, loose and lightweight sheer fabrics (chiffon, organza, stretch lace).

For the lining, we recommend artificial fibers (viscose), blended (viscose + elastane, viscose + polyester) or synthetic (polyester, polyester + elastane).

For the collar and cuffs we recommend using ribbed knit fabrics.

The trench coat in the photo is made of raincoat water-repellent fabric. This fabric is medium weight, flexible, soft and non-stretch. The fiber content is a blend of 97% cotton and 3% spandex.

The lining is made of the lining fabric with 45% viscose and 55% polyester fabric content.

The collar and cuffs are made out of ribbing, fiber content: 98% cotton + 2% spandex.
