Leri is a pair of loose-fitting pants with a straight silhouette. The grown-on waistband is elasticated and features grommets and a drawstring. There are pockets in the side seams. A narrow elastic cord with a cord stopper is threaded through the hem allowance. There is topstitching along the waistband and the side seams. The pants are below-ankle length.

Model Anastasia: height 175 cm, bust 83 cm, waist 62 cm, hips 90 cm. She is wearing size 36, height group 3.

Approximate sewing time: 1 day (8 hours).

To sew these pants, choose soft, non-stretch or low-stretch, medium-weight knit fabrics made of natural, artificial, blended, or synthetic fibers.

The following fabrics are recommended: thick French terry, lightweight French terry, brushed French terry, and fleece.

For the pocket lining, we recommend single jersey or double knits.

The pants in the photo are made of fleece. The fabric is medium weight, soft, and stretchy. The fiber content is 100% polyester. The fabric weight is 320 g/m².

The lining is made of single jersey, 70% viscose + 25% nylon + 5% elastane. The lining fabric weight is 150 g/m².

6. Round elastic cord, 2–3 mm (1/8”) in diameter — 1.45–1.75 m (1 5/8–1 7/8 yd), depending on the size. The exact cord length is indicated on the pattern

7. Drawstring for the waistband casing, 1 cm (3/8”) wide — 1.4–1.76 m (1 1/2–1 7/8 yd), depending on the size. The exact cord length is indicated on the pattern

8. Two double-hole stoppers for the elastic cord

9. Six metal grommets, 5 mm (just under 1/4”) in diameter

10. Matching thread — 5 spools (1 spool for the sewing machine + 4 spools for the overlocker / 5 spools for the coverstitch machine)

− sewing machine for construction

− overlocker for construction and finishing raw edges. This may be replaced with a stretch overlock stitch or a zigzag stitch on the sewing machine (overlock or zigzag stitch width 2–3 mm, stitch length 2.5 mm)

− coverstitch machine or coverlock for finishing the garment hem and the waistband. If you don’t have a coverstitch machine, the hem can be finished with a twin needle on any regular sewing machine that can do a zigzag stitch

− cord threader (may be replaced with a safety pin)

− hole puncher or awl

− press tool and a set of molds for installing grommets

IMPORTANT! We recommend using specialty needles when working with knit fabrics (for example, STRETCH, SUPER STRETCH, JERSEY, etc.). These have a ballpoint needle tip that parts the knit loops without piercing the threads.
