Nell Pants

Nell is a pair of close-fitting pants. The front legs are made up of shaped yokes and horizontal inserts that run the length of the leg. The back legs feature shaped yokes. The darts have been transferred into the center back seam. Each of the back legs is made up of two pieces and has a shaped seam at the knee level. The pants are low-waisted, the shaped waist is finished with a facing with no separate waistband. The pants feature an exposed metal zipper closure and a fly shield with a bound buttonhole. There is double topstitching along the yokes and inserts, as well as topstitching along the crotch, darts, side seams and hems. Nell is below-ankle length. 

Model Ksenia: Height 171 cm (5'7"), Bust 86 cm (33 7/8”), Waist 63 cm (24 3/4”), Hips 92 cm (36 1/4”). Ksenia is wearing size 36 in height 2.

Approximate sewing time – 2 days (16-18 hours).

To sew these pants, choose fabrics with the following properties:

- medium weight, soft, low or medium stretch

- the coating can be made from polyurethane, polyurethane foam and polyvinyl chloride

- the fiber content of the backing can include natural fibers (cotton), artificial fibers (viscose) and synthetics (polyester)

- the following fabrics are recommended: faux leather, faux suede with a woven or suede backing, natural leather

The pants in the photo are made of faux leather. The fabric is medium weight, pliable, soft and with very little stretch. The fiber content is a blend of 45% polyurethane and 55% viscose. The fabric weight is 280 gsm.

3. One closed-ended metal zipper No. 5, 20 cm (7 7/8") long, for all sizes in all heights

4. Two top zipper stoppers for adjusting the zipper length

5.  Stitched straight-grain fusible stay tape, 1 cm (3/8") wide – 1.1 m (1 1/4 yd)

6. Paper-backed fusible web tape, 1 cm (3/8") wide — 6 m (6 1/2 yd)

7. One button, 1.2 cm (1/2") in diameter

8. Matching thread — 1 spool

9. Matching topstitching thread (for example, Madeira No. 35) —1 spool

- sewing machine for construction

- stitch-in-the-ditch foot for the sewing machine (optional)

- one-sided foot for the sewing machine to attach the zipper

- teflon or walking foot for the sewing machine
