Obara is a pair of semi-fitted pants with a straight silhouette. The pants are insulated and fully lined. The upper edge of the grown-on elasticated waistband sits below the natural waistline and is decorated with topstitching. The side seams have pockets in them. An elastic cord with a stopper is threaded through the casing at the garment hem. The pants are below-the-ankle length.

Model Julia: Height 175 cm (5’9”), Bust 86 cm (33 7/8”), Waist 64 cm (25 1/4”), Hips 92 cm (36 1/84”). Julia is wearing size 36 in height 3.

Approximate sewing time — 2 days (16 hours).

To sew these pants, choose heavyweight or medium weight, non-stretch or low-stretch, hygroscopic, water-repellent, wind-resistant outerwear and raincoat fabrics made of natural fibers (cotton), artificial fibers (viscose), blended fibers (cotton + polyester, viscose + polyester, etc.), or synthetic fibers (polyester, polyester + elastane).

The following fabrics are recommended: raincoat fabrics,outerwear fabrics, dewspo, taslan, taffeta, oxford, and membrane fabrics.

For the lining, use lining fabrics made of artificial fibers (viscose), blends (viscose + elastane, viscose + polyester), or synthetics (polyester, polyester + elastane).

For insulation, we recommend Juli-Tex Thermo and Thinsulate with a fabric weight of 50–100 g/m². These insulators are thin, warm, and windproof, providing thermal protection without adding bulk.

The trousers in the photo are made of outerwear fabric. The fabric is medium weight and low-stretch. The fiber content is 100% polyester. The fabric weight is 280 g/m². The lining is made of 100% viscose. The insulation is Juli-Tex Thermo with a fabric weight of 100 g/m².

5. Elastic round cord (including seam allowances), 3 mm (1/8") in diameter — 1.55–1.9 m (1 3/4–2 1/8 yd), depending on size.

6. Two cord stoppers with two openings for elastic cord

7. Four metal grommets, 5 mm (3/16") in diameter.

8. Matching thread — 1 spool for the sewing machine.
