Sage is a pair of loose-fitting, straight-cut pants sitting 5 cm (2") below the natural waistline. The attached waistband features topstitched belt loops. There are slash pockets with a pocket facing on the front, as well as patch pockets and a yoke on the back. The pants have a fly front zipper closure. The waistband fastens with a stud button and buttonhole. The pocket openings, fly front, yoke, belt loops, and crotch seam are decorated with double topstitching lines, while the waistband and inseam are topstitched with a single line. The pants are floor length.

Model Sofia: Height 172 cm (5’8”), Bust 84 cm (33 1/8”), Waist 64 cm (25 1/4”), Hips 90 cm (35 3/8”). Sofia is wearing size 36 in height 3.

Approximate sewing time ― 1.5 days (12 hours).

To sew these pants, choose fabrics with the following properties:

- medium weight to heavyweight, moderate-stretch or low-stretch

- the fiber content can include natural fibers (cotton), artificial fibers (viscose), blends (cotton + polyester, cotton + viscose, etc.)

- the following fabrics are recommended: denim, corduroy.

For the pocket lining, we recommend using cotton or poplin.

The garment in the photo is made of denim. The fabric is heavyweight and low-stretch. The fiber content is 100% cotton. The fabric weight is 450 g/m2.

The pocket lining is 100% cotton.

3. Lightweight knit or woven interfacing, 140 cm (55”) wide, for all sizes in all heights — 0.25 m (1/4 yd)

4. Stitched bias-cut fusible stay tape with stitch reinforcement, 1.5 cm (5/8”) wide — 2.5 m (2 3/4 yd)

5. One metal pant zipper, 14 cm (5 1/2”) long, for all sizes in all heights

6. One metal stud button, 2–2.5 cm (3/4–1”) in diameter

7. Matching thread — 5 spools (1 spool for the sewing machine + 4 spools for the overlocker)

8.Matching (or contrasting) topstitching thread — 2 spools

- sewing machine for construction

- overlocker for finishing raw edges. This may be replaced with a stretch overlock stitch or a zigzag stitch on the sewing machine (overlock or zigzag stitch width 2–3 mm, stitch length 2.5 mm)

- buttonhole foot for the sewing machine

- stitch-in-the-ditch foot for the sewing machine (optional)

- stud button press tool with a set of molds
