Great pattern to work with!

Tammy is a pair of straight-cut, semi-fitted shorts. The shorts have an applied elasticated waistband and front patch pockets. The pockets and hems feature decorative topstitching. Tammy is mid-hip length.
Model Sofia: Height 172 cm (5’8”), Bust 84 cm (33 1/8”), Waist 64 cm (25 1/4”), Hips 90 cm (35 3/8”). Sofia is wearing size 36 in height 3.
Approximate sewing time — 3 hours.
To sew these shorts, choose knit fabrics with the following properties:
- soft, breathable, non-stretch or with very little stretch, medium weight
- the fiber content can include natural fibers (wool, cotton), artificial fibers (viscose), blends (wool + polyester, cotton + polyester, cotton + elastane, etc.), and synthetics (polyester, polyester + elastane)
- the following fabrics are recommended: thick French terry and lighter weight sweatshirting, jersey
Attention! We do not recommend using knit fabrics with a lot of stretch.
The shorts in the photo are made of thick French terry. The fabric is thick and structured, it wrinkles slightly and has very little stretch. The fiber content is 100% cotton. The fabric weight is 470 g/m2.

IMPORTANT! When purchasing fabric, please account for shrinkage and buy 5% more than required.
3. Elastic, 4 cm (1 5/8") wide — 58–94 cm (5/8–1 yd), depending on the size. The exact elastic length is specified in the pattern
4. Cotton drawstring, 1.5 cm (5/8") wide — 1.3–2 m (1 3/8–2 1/8 yd), depending on the size
5. Matching thread — 5 spools (1 spool for the sewing machine + 4 spools for the overlocker)
- sewing machine for construction
- overlocker for construction and finishing raw edges. It can be replaced with a stretch overlock stitch or a zigzag stitch on the sewing machine (overlock or zigzag stitch width 2–3 mm, stitch length 2.5 mm)
- coverstitch or coverlock machine for finishing the garment hem. It can be replaced with a twin needle on a regular sewing machine that can do a zigzag stitch
- elastic threader (may be replaced with a safety pin)
- buttonhole foot for the sewing machine
