Lais Skirt
Lais is a semi-fitted, fully lined trapeze skirt. The front features side pockets. The back is shaped with waist darts. The skirt has a waistband and fastens with a zipper in the center back seam. Lais is above-knee length.
Approximate sewing time — 1 day (8 hours).
Model Veronika: Height 168 cm (5’6”), Bust 82 cm (32 1/4”), Waist 60 cm (23 5/8”), Hips 89 cm (35”). Veronika is wearing size 36 in height 2.
Model Ulyana: Height 176 cm (5’9”), Bust 83 cm (32 5/8”), Waist 62 cm (24 3/8”), Hips 90 cm (35 3/8”). Ulyana is wearing size 36 in height 3.
To sew this skirt, choose suiting fabrics with the following properties:
− medium weight, structured, non-stretch or with very little stretch, opaque
− the fiber content can include natural fibers (wool), artificial fibers (viscose), blends (wool + polyester, cotton + viscose, etc.), and synthetics (polyester)
− the following fabrics are recommended: dress-weight wool, tweed, basket weave fabrics.
Attention! We do not recommend stretchy, thin, soft, fluid, loosely woven fabrics.
For the lining, choose lining fabrics made of artificial fibers (viscose), blends (viscose + elastane, viscose + polyester), or synthetics (polyester, polyester + elastane).
The skirt in the photo is made of wool tweed. The fabric is medium weight, pliable, medium stretch. The fiber content is 90% wool + 10% nylon. The fabric weight is 460 g/m2.
The lining is 100% viscose. The weight of the lining fabric is 100 g/m2.
The interfacing weight is 30 g/m2.

5. Bias-cut fusible stay tape, 1.5 cm (5/8") wide, for all sizes in all heights — 110 cm (43 1/4").

7. Matching thread — 5 spools (1 spool for the sewing machine + 4 spools for the overlocker).
