Missy skirt
Missy is a close-fitting skirt with a straight cut and a free-hanging lining. The front and back yokes are asymmetrical. The skirt features no waistband and an asymmetrical flounce at the bottom. Missy closes with an invisible zipper in the center back seam and is above-knee length.
Model Aliya: Height 171 cm (5’7”), Bust 86 cm (33 7/8”), Waist 63 cm (24 3/4”), Hips 90 cm (35 3/8”). Aliya is wearing size 36 in height 3.
Approximate sewing time — 1.5 days (12 hours).
To sew this skirt, choose lightweight or medium-weight, soft, and low-stretch dress-weight fabrics made of natural fibers, artificial fibers, blends, or synthetics.
Fabrics with a blended fiber content are preferable, as they are less prone to wrinkling, generally more resistant to wear and tear, and more durable.
The following fabrics are recommended: batiste, dress-weight viscose, artificial silk, natural silk, chiffon.
The lining fabric should have the same properties as the main fabric. Even the slightest difference in fabric properties can cause a distortion of the garment shape.
Important! The skirt can be made with or without the lining, depending on the weight and opacity of the main fabric. If the main fabric is very lightweight and sheer, finish the skirt with the lining. If the fabric is medium weight and opaque, the skirt can be made without it.
Attention! We do not recommend stretchy knit fabrics and crispy structured sheer fabrics (organza, stretch lace).
The skirt in the photo is made of silk chiffon. The fabric is lightweight, soft, low-stretch, and sheer. The fiber content is 100% silk. The fabric weight is 60 g/m².
The lining is made of crepe chiffon. The fabric is medium weight, pliable, and low-stretch. The fiber content is 100% polyester. The fabric weight is 90 g/m².
