Moira skirt
Moira is a semi-fitted skirt with a straight silhouette and a free-hanging lining. The skirt has no waistband and the waist is finished with a facing. The front features waist darts and a center seam that ends with a slit. The back features waist darts and a center seam. The skirt closes with an invisible zipper in the center back seam. Moira is knee-length.
Model Angelina: Height 174 cm (5’7”), Bust 84 cm (33 1/8”), Waist 62 cm (24 3/8”), Hips 91 cm (35 7/8”). Angelina is wearing size 36 in height 3.
Approximate sewing time — 1 day (8 hours).
To sew this skirt, choose suiting fabrics with the following properties: medium weight, non-stretch or low-stretch, opaque.
The fiber content can include natural fibers (wool, silk, cotton, linen), artificial fibers (viscose), blends (wool + silk, wool + polyester, cotton + viscose, etc.), and synthetic fibers (polyester, polyester + elastane).
The following fabrics are recommended: wool suiting, polyviscose suiting, gabardine.
Attention! We do not recommend stretchy or lightweight fabrics.
For the lining, use lining fabrics made of artificial fibers (viscose), blended fibers (viscose + elastane, viscose + polyester), or synthetic fibers (polyester, polyester + elastane).
The skirt in the photo is made of wool suiting. The fabric is medium weight and low-stretch. The fiber content is 97% wool + 3% elastane. The fabric weight is 270 g/m².
The lining is 100% viscose. The fabric weight is 100 g/m².

IMPORTANT! When purchasing fabric, please account for shrinkage and buy 5% more than required.
3. Lightweight interfacing, knit or woven, 140 cm (55”) wide, for all sizes and heights — 0.4 m (15 3/4")
4. Stitched bias-cut fusible stay tape with stitch reinforcement, 1.5 cm (5/8") wide — 1.2–1.6 m (1 1/4–1 3/4 yd)
5. One invisible zipper, 25 cm (10”) long, for all sizes and heights
6. One hook-and-eye closure, size S1
7. Matching thread — 5 spools (1 spool for the sewing machine + 4 spools for the overlocker)
− sewing machine for construction
− stitch-in-the-ditch foot for the sewing machine (optional)
− invisible zipper foot for the sewing machine
− one-sided foot for the sewing machine
− overlocker for joining and finishing seam allowances. This may be replaced with a stretch overlock stitch or a zigzag stitch on the sewing machine (overlock or zigzag stitch width 2–3 mm, stitch length 2.5 mm)
