The package includes 4 video courses on how to sew 3 handbags and 1 backpack of different designs and difficulty levels. Each course contains a series of video lessons describing each step of making a bag, from cutting out the pieces to finishing the bag with the lining.
Every bag presented in the course is modern and timeless. The course will help you master and polish accessory-making skills. You will study techniques that will be useful when working with other, more advanced bag designs. You will also learn how to deal with faux leather, outerwear fabrics, and real leather.

The access to the video lessons is not limited in time.
Maki bag
Maki is a spacious slouchy bag made of faux leather. The two stiff handles transition partially into soft tucks. There is a zipper pocket in the side seam. The top edge of the bag is finished with a facing. The facing features a casing on the inside of the bag. The bag is fully lined and also features an inner zipper pocket. The bag closes with drawstrings threaded through the casing. The drawstrings are secured together with decorative holders.
Fabric requirements:
- faux leather, 450–500 g/m² — 1 m (1 1/8 yd)
- lining fabric, 50 g/m² — 0.75 m (7/8 yd)
Approximate sewing time — 2 days.

Iori bag
Iori is a spacious slouchy bag made of faux leather. The handle features a triple twist. The bottom of the bag is stiff. The bag is fully lined and fastens with a magnetic snap.
Fabric requirements:
- faux leather, 450–500 g/m² — 1.2 m (1 1/4 yd)
- lining fabric, 50 g/m² — 0.65 m (3/4 yd)
Approximate sewing time — 1 day.

Izumi backpack
Izumi is a moderately spacious, soft backpack made of outerwear fabric quilted with insulation. The backpack is fully lined and features an inner zipper pocket. The top edge is finished with a casing threaded with drawstrings. The backpack has a handle and two adjustable straps. The flap of the backpack closes with a magnetic snap.
Fabric requirements:
- faux leather, 450–500 g/m² — 1.35 m (1 1/2 yd)
- lining fabric, 50 g/m² — 0.5 m (1/2 yd)
Approximate sewing time — 1 day.

Arisa bag
Arisa is a spacious structured bag made of real leather. The panels feature stiff handles, while the gussets have a detachable, adjustable strap with grommets and buckle. The bag has no lining.
Fabric requirements:
- real bovine leather – 0.7 m² (7.53 ft²)
Approximate sewing time — 3 days.

Arisa bag

To sew this bag, choose real bovine leather that is tough, strong and durable.

You may also use heavyweight structured fabric that doesn't fray.

The bag in the photo is made of real leather. The material is thick, structured and non-stretch. The leather is 1.2–1.4 mm thick.

Iori bag

To sew this bag, choose heavyweight, structured, and non-stretch fabrics.

The following fabrics are recommended: faux leather and faux suede with a woven or suede backing, real leather. 

The bag in the photo is made of faux leather. The fabric is medium weight, structured, and non-stretch. The fiber content is 45% polyurethane and 55% viscose, 350 g/m2. The lining is 100% viscose, 50 g/m2.

Izumi backpack

To sew this backpack, choose outerwear fabrics made of blended fibers or synthetics.

The following fabrics are recommended: taffeta, dewspo, nylon.

For insulation, we recommend using 200 g/m2 materials: alpolux, isosoft, thinsulate, holofiber, or polyester batting.

The backpack in the photo is made of dewspo fabric. The fabric is lightweight, pliable, and waterproof. The fiber content is 100% polyester. The fabric weight is 80 g/m2.

The backpack is quilted with 200 g/m2 isosoft insulation.

The lining is 100% viscose, 50 g/m2.

Maki bag

To sew this bag, choose heavyweight, structured and non-stretch fabrics.

The following fabrics are recommended: faux leather or faux suede with a woven or suede backing, real leather.

The bag in the photo is made of faux leather. The fabric is medium weight, structured and non-stretch. The fiber content is 45% polyurethane and 55% viscose. The fabric weight is 500 g/m2. The lining is 100% viscose, 50 g/m2.

Arisa bag

Attention! Real leather is typically sold in hides that come in different sizes and may have inconsistent thickness. Moreover, hides may have some cuts or tears. We recommend cutting out the paper pattern pieces in advance and taking them to the store with you so you can choose the appropriate hide on the spot.

1. The pdf pattern in your chosen size, in the following formats: Letter, A4, A0 and plotter format. The size of the plotter format is indicated in the name of the document. You will need a plotter printer that can print at least 900 mm width.

2. Detailed instructions which include cutting layouts, construction steps accompanied by photos, as well as instructions on how to work with Vikisews patterns (printing, taping, adjusting, sewing terminology).
