Are you trying to press the edges while folding them as you go and having no success? Follow our video tutorial on preparing a patch pocket using a template, and enjoy the result!
- Take the patch pocket pattern and cut off the 1-centimeter seam allowances. If you prefer to keep the original pattern intact, copy the piece onto thick paper.
- Next, machine-stitch along the curved area of the pocket, at 5 millimeters from the bottom edge. Use a 4 millimeter stitch length.
- Pull on the lower thread to gather the curved corners.
- Put the template inside the pocket and carefully press the seam allowances to the wrong side.
Voilà! The pocket looks nice and neat!
