How to prepare a patch pocket using a template

Are you trying to press the edges while folding them as you go and having no success? Follow our video tutorial on preparing a patch pocket using a template, and enjoy the result!

  1. Take the patch pocket pattern and cut off the 1-centimeter seam allowances. If you prefer to keep the original pattern intact, copy the piece onto thick paper.
  2. Next, machine-stitch along the curved area of the pocket, at 5 millimeters from the bottom edge. Use a 4 millimeter stitch length.
  3. Pull on the lower thread to gather the curved corners.
  4. Put the template inside the pocket and carefully press the seam allowances to the wrong side.

Voilà! The pocket looks nice and neat!
