How to quickly and neatly press the hem allowance under?

There are 2 useful methods.

Method no.1:

1️. Cut a piece of cardboard that is as wide as the seam allowance. The length doesn’t matter in this case.

2️. Place the cardboard on the wrong side of the garment hem allowance.

3️. Fold the hem allowance over the cardboard and press.

4️. Press it down with a tailor’s clapper and let it cool down. Remove the cardboard piece.

Method no.2:

1️. On the wrong side of the garment, chalk-mark a line at twice the width of the hem allowance.

2️. Fold the hem allowance under, aligning the bottom edge with the marked line.

3️. Press in place, then press it down with a tailor’s clapper and let it cool down.
