How to quickly unpick the overlocker stitches

Do you know how to quickly unpick the overlocker stitches? Here is an example using a 4-thread overlocker seam.

Take a closer look at the threads forming the seam:

  • the two parallel straight stitching lines on the left side are the needle threads
  • the other two threads form horizontal loops on both sides of the fabric.

Work from the right side of the seam to first pull on the second needle thread (the one closer to the center of the seam). Then pull on the other needle thread to easily unravel the overlocker seam.
